TriHealth and The Urology Group to Collaborate for Urological Patients
Cincinnati, OH (August 21, 2015) – TriHealth and The Urology Group (TUG) announced today they have formalized an agreement to provide urological services to patients throughout the TriHealth system. In addition to providing comprehensive urology services coverage, The Urology Group will provide medical-administrative leadership services, collaborate with TriHealth’s specialty Institutes for patient care programs, and work closely with TriHealth to improve the quality and coordination of our urology services.
“We at TriHealth are grateful for our long-standing relationship with The Urology Group and for the opportunity to create yet another important partnership with a large group of independent physicians, this time to advance the quality and efficiency in urology patient care,” said John R Robinson, MD, Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations for TriHealth. “Our patients, surgeons and facilities will receive outstanding urology leadership and care. We look forward to working with The Urology Group to make even greater improvements in TriHealth’s urology services as we position ourselves to lead the way in population health and fulfill our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve. We are excited about the breadth of our collaborative physician relationships that bring such benefits to our patients and families.”
The Urology Group is an independent medical group that has served the Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Indiana region with great distinction for many years. They have 39 physicians and a total staff of almost 300 making the group one of the largest independent providers of Urological Services in the Midwest.
This comprehensive services agreement took effect August 1 and covers Bethesda North Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Bethesda Butler Hospital, TriHealth Evendale Hospital, TriHealth Surgery Center West and McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.
“As one of the largest independent urology groups in the country, we bring a 20-year legacy of deep specialization in treating both men and women with conditions ranging from genitourinary cancer, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction, and many others,” said Dr. Gary M. Kirsh, President of The Urology Group. “We are delighted to partner with TriHealth, a leading healthcare provider in our community, so that more patients will benefit from our advanced care resources and expertise.”
By working more closely together as we do with other independent groups and TriHealth physicians, both TriHealth and The Urology Group will be united in focusing on improving the quality, efficiency, effectiveness and coordination of urology services across the system, providing better monitoring of the quality of care rendered to patients based on national benchmarks, creating new urological surgical programs at TriHealth and leading TriHealth’s further advancement in the minimally invasive and robotic surgery programs.
