The Urology Group wins Norwood Outstanding Business Award

CINCINNATI (December 6, 2012) – The Urology Group, along with several community companies, was recognized at Norwood Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 Business of the Year Awards luncheon.

President of the Norwood Chamber, Ron Pennington, presented the awards in five categories. The Urology Group won the Outstanding Investment Award, in recognition of its decision to keep its headquarters in Norwood amid the organization’s continued growth.

The Urology Group first moved to Norwood in 1995 and most recently built and opened a new 55,000- square-foot facility off Montgomery Road at the Norwood Lateral in August of this year.

“We came to the conclusion that we liked Norwood,” commented Earl Walz, CEO of The Urology Group, as he accepted the award. He noted the convenience of the location — the group attracts patients from a large regional footprint. “We decided we were going to make a permanent home, so we built the new building that you now see on the Norwood Lateral. It’s been a great opportunity for us and we hope, and believe, the City of Norwood has enjoyed it also.”

The new facility offers a complete suite of urological health services, including surgeries, imaging procedures and diagnostic testing and treatment. The $20 million campus combines all new, state-of-the-art equipment to serve patients, all in one convenient location.

Four other companies received awards in the following categories: Outstanding New Development Award to Mercy Health – Rookwood Medical Center; Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year Award to Hamilton County Business Center; Longevity Award to United Dairy Farmers; and Outstanding Community Service Award to Norwood Business & Professional Women’s Club.

This was the second year for the recognition luncheon meeting held at the Cintas Center.
