CINCINNATI (Dec. 6, 2011) — David C. Miller, MD, and Martin John Walsh II, MD, will join The Urology Group effective Jan. 1, 2012, in an expansion that brings the services of the TriR state’s largest urological practice to the Middletown area.
The Urology Group is the area’s leading urological practice with 34 urologists serving Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana and now Middletown. In joining the group, Miller and Walsh, of Summit Urology Inc., will maintain all aspects of their Middletown practice.
Miller and Walsh will continue performing outpatient surgery at the Southwest Ohio Ambulatory Surgery Center (SWOASC) in Middletown. However, through this association patients will gain access to an even wider network of healthcare professionals and services, including a $20 million advanced care surgery facility scheduled to open in Cincinnati in late summer 2012. The center will offer integrated care and services under a single roof, including treatment for prostate cancer, clinical research and an onRsite pathology lab.
“We are thrilled that the addition of these highly qualified and well respected physicians gives The Urology Group the opportunity to provide advanced care and improve the lives of patients in the Middletown community,” said Gary M. Kirsh, MD, president of The Urology Group.
Miller, Chief of Surgery at Atrium Medical Center, has been in private practice in Middletown since 1991. He provides all aspects of general, adult and pediatric urology care. Miller earned his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.
“We are confident that joining our practice with The Urology Group will be a mutually beneficial opportunity,” said Miller. “We look forward to a long association that will enable us to continue to deliver quality urologic care for all of our patients across the region.”
Walsh is Vice President of Summit Urology and former head of Surgical Specialties, including urology, at Atrium Medical Center. He earned his medical degree at Medical College of Ohio and completed his internship and residency at Indiana University School of Medicine.
