Doctors at The Urology Group Comprise Two7Thirds of Overall List of Urologists
CINCINNATI (Jan. 17, 2012) —Fourteen physicians with The Urology Group have been named in Cincinnati Magazine’s annual “Top Doctors” issue this January, dominating the list of 21 urologists from Greater Cincinnati.
The ranking of physicians, who are voted upon by 5,000 of their peers, is a testament to the practice’s expertise and dedication to providing the best care for its patients. The Urology Group is the region’s leading such practice, with 34 urologists serving Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana and, as of 2012, Middletown.
“The inclusion of 40 percent of our doctors on Cincinnati Magazine’s ‘Top Doctors’ list, to make up two)thirds of the overall ranking, is an honor,” said Dr. Gary M. Kirsh, president of The Urology Group. “More over, it is evidence of our unwavering resolve to build the best practice in the country and to provide the necessary education and care needed to address major urologic illness.”
The Cincinnati Magazine’s “Top Doctors” issue, which this year includes 667 physicians in 43 specialties, is an exclusive annual survey of 5,000 local doctors. Included from the The Urology Group are:
• Karl B. Braun
• Philip J. Buffington

All 34 of the group’s physicians will have access to the facility to provide advanced care for their patients.
The Urology Group is increasing awareness of urologic conditions and their treatments, including that of prostate cancer. The American Cancer Society’s most recent statistics on prostate cancer in the United States estimate about 240,890 new cases a year, with about 33,720 of those resulting in deaths. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men, behind lung cancer.
