Prostate Cancer 10k/5k Run this weekend

MEDIA ALERT: Saturday Race Raises Awareness of Prostate Cancer

WHAT: The Urology Group will host its 10th annual ZERO Prostate Cancer race this Saturday, Oct. 15. The event will be hosted by baseball legend and prostate cancer survivor Ken Griffey Sr., who will be available for interviews.

WHERE: The race begins and ends at The Urology Group. Parking is free around the Norwood campus located just off of Montgomery Road.

WHEN:

Registration begins at 7 a.m.
Survivors’ Breakfast is at 7:30 a.m.
Race starts at 9 a.m.
After-party goes until noon, with food, adult beverages, a basket raffle and a kids zone.

RACE INFO:

• More than 1,200 people are expected to run or walk.
• Registration is available the morning of the race beginning at 7 a.m.
• This year’s race is expected to raise $150,000.In addition to the race:

• A Survivors’ Breakfast before the race celebrates men who have beaten prostate cancer or are currently battling it.
• There will be raffle baskets with prizes ranging from $200 to $1,000.
• Superhero Kids Dash for Dad will have little ones rounding the bases.
