Note to media: Physicians from The Urology Group will be available for interviews
What: The Urology Group physicians and staff will begin growing mustaches on Movember 1 to raise funds and awareness for the Movember campaign with the goal of ‘changing the face’ of men’s health, particularly regarding prostate and testicular cancer.
When: Monday, Nov. 2, 6-8 p.m.
Movember is known internationally as a month to raise awareness for men’s health causes, specifically prostate and testicular cancers. Throughout the month, The Urology Group physicians and employees will grow facial hair in an effort to get men talking about their health.
Movember with culminate on Monday, November 30, at 6 p.m. with a public shaving of the physicians at the Indian Mound Café.
Where: Indian Mound Café
5226 Montgomery Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45212
Why: Gender is one of most consistent predictors of health and life expectancy. For men, this is not good news given that, on average, they die six years earlier than women. Among other health issues, the impact of prostate and testicular cancer is significant, with prostate cancer being the most common non-skin cancer in men worldwide and the number of cases expected to almost double to 1.7 million cases by 2030. About one man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.
