MEDIA EVENT
The Urology Group Docs Shave It All Off at Indian Mound Café Tonight
Movember event includes public shaving to change the face of men’s health
Note to media: Physicians from The Urology Group will be available for interviews.
What: Barbers from Roosters Men’s Grooming Center will shave off the Movember beards of numerous physicians and staff members of The Urology Group who grew facial hair in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the Movember campaign with the goal of changing the face of men’s health, particularly regarding prostate and testicular cancer.
Movember is known internationally as a month to raise awareness for men’s health causes. Throughout the month, The Urology Group physicians and employees grew facial hair in an effort to get men talking about their health.
When: Monday, November 28, 6 p.m.
Shaving begins at 7 p.m.
Where: Indian Mound Café
5226 Montgomery Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45212
Why: Gender is one of most consistent predictors of health and life expectancy. For men, this is not good news given that, on average, they die six years earlier than women. Among other health issues, the impact of prostate cancer is significant. It is the second most common cancer killer of men, behind only lung cancer. About one man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.
