The Urology Group Kicks Off Movember at Indian Mound Café
Join us for conversations about men’s health and chances to win door prizes on Nov. 1
Note to media: Physicians from The Urology Group will be available for interviews.
What: The Urology Group physicians and staff will begin growing mustaches on November 1 to raise awareness for the Movember campaign with the goal of ‘changing the face’ of men’s health, particularly regarding prostate and testicular cancers.
Movember is known internationally as a month to raise awareness for men’s health causes. Throughout the month, The Urology Group physicians and employees will grow facial hair in an effort to get men talking about their health.
When: Tuesday, November 1, 6-8 p.m.
Where: Indian Mound Café
5226 Montgomery Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45212
Why: Gender is one of most consistent predictors of health and life expectancy. For men, this is not good news given that, on average, they die six years earlier than women. Among other health issues, the impact of prostate cancer is significant. It is the second most common cancer killer of men, behind only lung cancer. About one man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.
Movember will culminate on Monday, November 28 at 6 p.m. with a public shaving of the physicians at the Indian Mound Café.
