The Urology Group’s Dr. Michael Dusing Elected Chief of Surgery for St. Elizabeth Healthcare
Only Local Surgeon Performing HoLEP Procedure for Enlarged Prostate
CINCINNATI (December 16, 2014) – Michael W. Dusing, M.D., of The Urology Group, has been elected chief of surgery for St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Northern Kentucky for a two-year term.
Chosen by his peers in the surgical services department, which includes anesthesiology and pathology, Dr. Dusing will provide administrative direction and departmental leadership, and will also serve on St. Elizabeth’s Executive Committee. He will maintain his practice workload with The Urology Group.
With more than 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Dusing practices out of The Urology Group’s Northern Kentucky office in Crestview Hills. In addition treating urological malignancies and performing robotic surgery, Dr. Dusing is the only physician in the Greater Cincinnati region qualified for holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) surgery. HoLEP treats an enlarged prostate using a laser to precisely remove obstructions and restore urine flow, providing an effective, less invasive alternative to more traditional methods.
A graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Dusing received his surgical and urology training at Indiana University. He has been certified by the American Board of Urology and is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists and the Large Urology Group Practice Association.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be selected by my peers for this position,” said Dusing. “As a native of Northern Kentucky, I’m glad to continue helping meet the medical needs of our community through this role.”
