If you visit one of our offices during the month of November you might notice some changes with a few of our docs. They’ll be a bit hairier.
Let me explain.
A number of physicians will be growing mustaches or “Mos” to mark the month of Movember, a month dedicated to men’s health causes. We’ll be raising awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancers in particular.
Physicians and staff will also sport stickers that say, “Ask me about Movember!” to spread the word. Offices will be outfitted with donation jars and flyers that encourage patients, family and friends to get involved in the cause.
Those interested in making a donation electronically can visit our official Movember & Sons donation page. Donors can decide if they want to support a specific physician or the team as a whole.
We expect the competition between physicians to get a bit hairy, that’s why we’ve also created a website that will help document the growth in pictures, providing photo updates on all participating physicians’ mos.
Most exciting of all at the end of November, our physicians will participate in a public shaving at Local’s Sports Bar & Grill, 19 East Seventh Street between Vine and Walnut. I urge everyone to attend — it’s sure to be a fun night, with money raised benefitting prostate cancer research and men’s health education.
I’m proud to be a part of this great team of physicians and staff members and I look forward to what Movember may bring.
Let’s Mo!
