THE UROLOGY GROUP AND BELTERRA PARK JOIN FORCES FOR 2018 PROSTATE CANCER 5K
Runner participation expected to reach 2,000 with bigger winner’s purse
CINCINNATI (February 1, 2018) — The Urology Group announced that it will resume hosting the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, after a one-year hiatus. The event has been renamed “The Gentlemen Stakes 5K for Prostate Cancer” in honor of its new location and host partner Belterra Park Gaming. Proceeds will benefit ZERO, the leading national nonprofit with the mission to end prostate cancer, which is the second leading cause of cancer death among men.
This event marks the first time Belterra Park has served as the venue for a charity walk/run. The course will begin on the racetrack, wind through the property and end with an after-party at the track. Belterra Park, conveniently located off I-275, just ten minutes from downtown Cincinnati, provides free parking and racing infrastructure including the starting gate and grandstand seating for spectators.
“After hosting ten consecutive successful races, we decided to regroup in 2017,” said Earl Walz, CEO of The Urology Group. “We wanted to take the event to the next level. Our event drew about 1,200 participants each year, but with our new expanded venue, we expect to draw more than 2,000 walkers and runners.”
“We could not be more excited to partner with The Urology Group by hosting the ZERO 5K this year at Belterra Park Gaming. Our facility is ideal for events like this and the work this organization does provides an important service to our community,” said Chris Corrado, Vice President and General Manager of Belterra Park. “We know this will be a fun and memorable experience for everyone who attends.”
“The Gentlemen Stakes 5K for Prostate Cancer” ZERO 5K Run/Walk takes place Saturday, Sept. 22 at Belterra Park, 6301 Kellogg Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45230. Runners and walkers are welcome to register for this family-friendly event by visiting https://www.urologygroup.com/gentlemen-stakes/.
