The Urology Group Docs Get Shaved to Change the Face of Men’s Health
Join us for public shaving, BLUE beer and conversations about men’s health
Note to media: Physicians from The Urology Group will be available for interviews.
What: Barbers from Roosters Men’s Grooming Center will shave off the Movember beards of at least ten physicians and staff members of The Urology Group who grew facial hair in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the Movember campaign with the goal of changing the face of men’s health, particularly regarding prostate and testicular cancer.
When: Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 from 6-9 p.m.
Movember is known internationally as a month to raise awareness for men’s health causes, specifically prostate and testicular cancers. Throughout the month, The Urology Group physicians and employees grew facial hair in an effort to get men talking about their health.
Where: Indian Mound Café
5226 Montgomery Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45212
Why: Gender is one of most consistent predictors of health and life expectancy. For men, this is not good news given that, on average, they die six years earlier than women. Among other health issues, the impact of prostate and testicular cancer is significant, with prostate cancer being the most common non-skin cancer in men worldwide and the number of cases expected to almost double to 1.7 million cases by 2030. About one man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.
